# Email alerts

> Turn on email expiry alerts in Expira for a team or for your private assets. Recipients are resolved automatically.

Email needs no setup. Recipients are resolved when the alert is sent:

* **Team channel:** every active member of the team.
* **Personal channel:** your profile email.

Each recipient gets their own email, so nobody sees anyone else's address.

## Turn it on

**1. Open the scope**

Go to **Alerts → Delivery** and open **Personal** or a team's tab.

**2. Connect email**

Under **Delivery channels**, press **Connect** on **Email**. It connects straight away.

**3. Choose it for alerts**

Under **Alert preferences**, tick **Email** under **Via**, pick your thresholds and press **Save preferences**.

Press **Test** to send a sample alert to yourself.

## Pause or remove

**Pause** stops email for that scope until you press **Resume**. **Remove** disconnects it.

If you don't receive alerts, check your spam folder and [Alert history](https://docs.expira.dev/alerts/history.md), which shows each email alert and how many people it went to.
